Within the hotel, the
public bar offers a traditional welcome.
Its normal beers and spirits are complemented with a malt whisky trail, including
the malts which have made the island of Islay famous throughout the world.
Games feature in the bar, with the provision of a pool table, darts and pool
competitions.
If you want to venture out there's plenty to entertain you. Visit the oldest
working mill in Britain, take a boat tour along Islay's southern coast past
distilleries and watch out for wildlife. There are 7 distilleries on the island
producing some very distinctive and unique malts. At the end of May each
year, Islay holds FEIS ILE - the festival of Malt and Music. This will provide
you with music, dance, entertainment and special whisky tours.
Islay has some breathtaking beaches and many bays and coves to explore
the rocky shoreline. There are many areas where the seals congregate, and
you can also spot whales and dolphins off the coast too.
If that's all too much for you relax with a game of
golf, bowling, fishing or take in some scenery on a pony trek or a cycle.
At the end of the day visit the sauna
in the local leisure centre to steam away all your aches and pains. Enjoy!
